The penalty occurred in the second period during Game 4 of the playoff series. At the time, Bollig received a two minute penalty.
While a two game suspension seems like a harsh punishment, you can view a full video explanation of the decision.
Ballard will not play in Game 5 in Chicago, which shouldn’t hurt the team very much. In his two playoff games he has not scored a goal and has a minus-2 rating.
For the Blackhawks, Bollig only averaged 6:09 of ice time in his nine playoff games. He has also had zero points.
In his three years in the NHL, this will be the first fine or suspension for Bollig.
